Gary B. Homsey is a native born Oklahoman. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma State University in 1971 and his Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University in 1974. Mr. Homsey was admitted to the bar in 1974 and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals Tenth Circuit, U.S. District Court and the Northern, Eastern and Western District Courts of Oklahoma.
Professional ethics are very important to Mr. Homsey and are reflected in his many years of active service on various fee grievance and ethics committees. His respect among colleagues and legislators is such that the punitive damages statute he co-drafted was signed into law by the governor in 1997. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, American Bar Association, American and Oklahoma Associations for Justice, National Academy of Barristers, American Judicature Society and the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice Foundation.
In addition to his numerous professional affiliations and activities, Mr. Homsey has been happily married for 38 years. Mr. Homsey and his wife have three children and two grandchildren. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Homsey is a member of the Bishop’s Council of Oklahoma City University, which is dedicated to the preservation and contributions to sustain the Oklahoma City University School of Law. As a member of the Appleseed Foundation, Mr. Homsey and its prestigious members are responsible for the recent enactment of the anti-bullying statutes.
